The Nate Darr Memorial Scholarship is a way to remember, honor and keep alive the spirit of Nate Darr in the Centerville community. Nate was a graduate of the class of 2002 and a standout soccer star at both Centerville High School and the University of Dayton. Nate passed away unexpectedly in December 2019 from an undiagnosed heart condition called ARVC (arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy) which is the leading cause of sudden death among young athletes but can affect people of fall ages. In a final act of selflessness, Nate became an organ donor which has bettered the lives of many in our area.

Nate's friends and family have created a scholarship in his name so future Centerville athletes will carry on his tradition of sportsmanship, perseverance and kindness. Each Fall a Centerville soccer player will receive a $2,000 scholarship to a school of their choice to aid in funding their education. Spring 2022 was the first year the scholarship was awarded, please stay tuned to learn who is next!
